What Do ATS SLP’s do?

Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) at Achieving True Self (ATS) assists our clients in reaching his or her maximum functional potential through comprehensive assessment and intervention services within The Center of Achievement or other approved locations. Our therapists create a fun, motivating experience to generate the highest level of performance from the individuals we are fortunate to serve, collect data on their programming targets, and provide comprehensive support to their parents and caregivers, teachers, and other members of their treatment team. 

Where is ATS Located?

  • Maryland 
  • Pennsylvania
  • West Virginia

This position would be located in our Center of Achievement located in Irwin, PA. This position is not a remote position and will require you to be onsite Monday-Friday. Some evenings will be required if the clients schedule only supports evening sessions.

What Qualifications Do I Need to Join the ATS Team?

  • Master’s Degree required. 
  • Speech and Language Pathologist License required.
  • ASHA Certification is a plus!
  • Comfortable working with all age ranges.
  • Experience with Autism strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within an ABA center/clinic setting is strongly preferred.
  • Must have problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and possess mature judgment.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a 1:1 setting with individuals exhibiting challenging behavior. 
  • Compassionate demeanor, with a strong desire to help clients develop, maximizing their potential and capitalizing on their strengths.
  • A drive to be part of an innovative, expanding company with amazing potential for growth.
  • A valid driver's license with proof of car insurance and a good driving record is required.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.

What are the some of the responsibilities of a Speech and Language Pathologist?

  • Deliver exceptional customer-focused treatment through ethical interactions.
  • Work with individuals with a variety of diagnosis, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, ODD and other speech disorders.
  • Work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
  • Emphasize individual motivation and engagement to create the space for ongoing progress.
  • Create individualized assessments and reassessments per deadlines.
  • Assess the family’s and consumer’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
  • Work with families and other providers to establish communication methods and obtain AAC devices, if applicable. 
  • Maintain and completing data collection and treatment records.
  • Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with clients.
  • Engage with the community by attending educational presentations, health fairs, and community events, etc, to develop new connections and referrals to facilitate continuous case growth.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the organization.
